Do we not have a GB athletics team,swimming team etc,why not a Gb football side?

Because Scotland and to some extent Wales and Northern Ireland don't want to join a GB team because they feel it will affect the independence of their national teams. This is due to a perception that fifa would like to end the anomally of having 4 national teams in one country
