Why the people who know nothing about their own religion comments on Islam without any knowledge?

People talk about Islam with almost no knowledge of the religion and its teaching simply because they have been force-fed so much negativity from the media that it is all that they have been exposed to. They turn a blind eye to all the good works that Muslims perform because the m media is on a ratings system - they only show the gruesome side of things. One could do the same with Christianity. During the Crusades, the Christian Army, in attempt to reclaim the holy land, slaughtered hundreds of thousands of Seljuk Turks for a cause they thought just and righteous - which is precisely what the extremest Muslims are doing now. Nevermind the fact that thousands of Muslims follow a truly righteous path and help those that are in need, even when it is an inconvenience to themselves. If the people who denounced Islam as a religion actually took the time to sit down and read the Quran, they would find that its teachings are almost identical to the Bible's, that it does not condone violence and anger, but rather peace towards one's brothers and sisters. The Bible, the Quran, and the Torah are all based around the same being - God as preached by Abraham. The only difference between them is that Islam views itself as a more pure religion - The Jewish corrupted the texts in the Torah and fell off the path set by Abraham, and the Christians worship Christ as the Son of God, as an embodiment of God himself, despite the fact that God told Moses that his people were to worship only him, to worship no Idols and hold no gods before Him. The Quran even attests to the fact that Christ lived; They consider him a prophet, not the physical embodiment of the Divine on earth.
